Top movies to watch in the second half of the year

As the first half of the year is almost over, it’s time to look ahead to the second. The summer and fall of 2022 will bring some exciting productions in cinemas and on streaming platforms. Everyone will surely find something to wait for and hang on the edge of their seats in anticipation. Let’s take a look at what’s to come in the second half of the year in cinematography.

Jurassic World: Dominion (June 10)

If you thought that the last part of the Jurassic franchise ended with a happily-ever-after where people and dinosaurs coexist and share the suburbs, the newest story to come out in June might prove you wrong. Not much is known about the plot of this new Jurassic World: Dominion movie but one might safely assume that it won’t be a tale of interspecies friendship.

Elvis (June 24)

Who does not like a good biopic, especially about the life of the king of rock’n’roll? Elvis will take over the big screen in June 2022. The plot will revolve around the musician, played by Austin Butler, and a relationship with his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. If you are a fan of Tom Hanks, you definitely cannot miss this production!

Thor: Love and Thunder (July 8)

A year without some of Marvel’s productions is a year lost – not that there would be any. This year, there will be two of them, one in May, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the next in July. Thor: Love and Thunder, yet again directed by Taika Waititi, is a follow-up to Thor: Ragnarok. One thing’s sure, it will be a star-packed movie with the one and only Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt and Karen Gillan.

Where The Crawdads Sing (July 15)

Where The Crawdads Sing became extremely popular as a novel that moved and touched millions of readers – if you don’t know it yet, check The New York Times article. Now, the story will have its adaptations. The movie with the same title will come out in July 2022. It’s a tale of a girl who was abandoned by her mother and lived all by herself on the marsh. It’s a story of love, passion, friendship, loneliness, and a variety of emotions.

Bullet Train (July 29)

Bullet Train, coming out in July, is based on a Japanese novel written by Kōtarō Isaka and follows the story of an assassin who seeks to give up his profession. The movie is an action-packed thriller, star-studded, with Brad Pitt in the main role.

Don’t Worry, Darling (September 23)

Harry Styles, Florence Pugh, Olivia Wild and others. It’s a mixture that resulted in a movie that everyone awaits. Don’t Worry, Darling is a thriller set in the 1950s, with the main character of a housewife who becomes a little bit suspicious about her perfect life. Interested? Find out more in the GQ rticle.

Amsterdam (November 4)

A movie that is one of the biggest mysteries in cinematography this year. Amsterdam is due to come out in November, and while everyone knows that the cast is a true marvel, full of top stars, the story is still left in the shadows.

Avatar: The Way of Water (December 16)

This year will end with the production that everybody has been waiting for. Avatar: The Way of Water is a follow-up to the highly popular Avatar by James Cameron. The main characters once again need to fight for what’s valuable, but this time, the cast is even more star-stubbed with Kate Winslet and Vin Diesel on board.
